IAPMO IGC 337 – Air Admittance Valves with Adverse Pressure Seals and Leak IndicatorIAPMO IGC 337-2017 covers air admittance valves with adverse pressure seals and leak indication intended for applications in all plumbing systems including pumped waste and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings.
Air admittance valves covered by this Standard are compliant with the requirements of either ASSE 1050 or ASSE 1051 with the addition of a leak indicator test, an adverse pressure test, an extreme 1034 kPa (150 psi) back pressure test, and increased minimum air-flow rate capability.
Note: The manufacturers should specify which standard, ASSE 1050 or ASSE 1051, is applicable for compliance of the air admittance valve under evaluation, based on the intended application of the device for either stacked or individual branch type sanitary drainage systems.
Air admittance valves covered by this standard are constructed with adverse pressure seals and include a leak indicator. An example component diagram of air admittance valves covered by this standard is shown in Figure 1. The air admittance valve assembly may include
- (a) Housing;
- (b) Sealing Valve;
- (c) Leak Indicator;
- (d) Gasket Seals; and
- (e) Screens.
